This information pertains to software available through the IU/Microsoft Campus Agreement with Core Server Site License for use on personal devices.

Software for students, faculty, and staff

Students, faculty, and staff can download and install Windows without fee from IUware; for more, see About IUware Additionally, many Microsoft applications are available for use (without fee) through IU's client virtualization (CV) service, IUanyWare; see About IUanyWare.

Office desktop versions
Office 2016 is available for Windows and macOS through Office 365, a subscription-based service that is free to all currently registered students, faculty, and staff.

You can download desktop versions of Microsoft Office from IUware. IUware also links to Office 365 for Office 2016 installation.
Office virtualized
IUanyWare lets you use a browser to run a desktop version of Microsoft Office without having to install it on your computer or mobile device. For help, see Set up and use IUanyWare.
Office Mobile apps
Office Mobile apps are scaled-down, touch-optimized versions of Office applications available for most smartphones and tablets, including iOS and Android devices. The Office Mobile apps include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
Office Mobile apps are free and can be downloaded directly from your device's app store. You can sign into Office Mobile apps using your IU Office 365 account, which lets you access OneDrive storage space.
To sign in with your IU Office 365 account after installing an Office Mobile app, open the app, and then, when prompted for an email address, enter your IU username followed by @iu.edu
(for example, username@iu.edu
).
Office Online
Office Online lets you create and edit files using lightweight, browser-based versions of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Office Online apps are available through Office 365, and as integrated solutions within IU's SharePoint and Box services.

Office Online apps have features such as real-time co-authoring and autosaving. Some limitations include a lack of add-ons and macro support.
